My first Wedding Shoot!
Well apparently I need to update my blog...sorry guys!
On July 18th I had the opportunity to photograph my very first wedding. It was so much fun but it was pretty much the hottest day of summer, so I didn't get as many shots as I wanted since we were all sweating. The bride and groom kept asking me when were done. It was that hot. It was a long day. The sealing was at nine in the morning with the reception at three in the afternoon. I didn't get home til about eight o'clock, and I was up at six thirty. The brides parents live in Sandy Valley, Nevada which is about I think a half hour away from the state boarder...California and Nevada. So the Wedding was an all day thing.
Well here are some of the shots that I got at the Temple.
This one as well.
Pictures of the reception to come.

Long time over due...
Well Mike and I took a week vacation from work and drove up to Utah. We drove up Friday May 29 and came back June 3. We had so much fun.....
May 29, 2009
The drive up was horrible. We were doing fine til we hit really bad construction in Juab County. The truck in front of us was initially driving off the side the road to "hit" rocks at us. We had two rock chips on my windshield in my 2005 Merc that we bought in February. You could see these huge rocks fly up and coming down on our car. It was so scary and horrible......
Mike was so mad about the rock chips (cuz he is a car nut and who likes a chipped windshield anyway?) that he started to speed a little....not to much but over the speed limit in a construction zone. Kind of freaky....lets just say that we got pulled over and got a ticket in a construction zone. (saw that one coming) Fortunately, we told the officer that it was our "honeymoon" and he let us off with just a normal speeding ticket. Not the best way to start off your vacation.
After getting back on the road we got stuck in an hours worth of Traffic. Going from two lanes to one after driving 5 hours is not fun and highly uncomfortable. Well we finally reached our destination....Lehi/highland. We stayed and Mikes sisters house. (Thanks Michelle and Dave!) We got in around 5:30. We were so tired that we went and ate at Denny's, (which had poor service and got my order wrong) and then crashed.

Saturday we (Michelle, Dave, Mike and I) went and ate at Tacanos....kind of like Texas De Brazil. (yummy food). After lunch we drove up to Park City, which was very pretty and all but everything was closing down by the time we got there around 5:30. So we decided to go down to Temple square and hang out there while I took some pictures. It felt so good to be back at Temple Square. I didn't realize how much I missed it. After Temple Square we ate at JCW's for dinner. Mikes' favorite burger place now! We went back to the house and watched Arrested Development which is Hilarious.

Happy Birthday Emmie!
21 years old
Sunday we went to Sacrament Meeting with Michelle and Dave and then changed so we could have lunch with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Brad and Aunt Veronica. We were running early so we stopped at the West Jordan Temple and took some pictures. The gates weren't open so we stayed in the parking lot. About a half hour later we were on our way again to Grandma's house to met Grandpa there and then go out to eat for my Birthday. We decided on Golden Corral. We all had fun chit chatting and happy to be with each other. Thanks Grandpa Christensen and Grandma Rook... it will be a birthday I will always remember.
After lunch with our Grandparents we went back to Temple Square to relax and just enjoy each others company...Mike and I. I got my "birthday pictures" taken by Mike with the Temple in the back ground... they are gorgeous. Mike is becoming quit the photographer as well. We were suppose to met up with Dave and Michelle and go watch the Joesph Smith Movie since Mike had never seen it....well Dave and Chell never showed up so we went on with out them....(we missed you guys!)
After the movie we headed home and stopped at JCW's once again. We took it to go so we could relax. Chelle had made a gluten free chocolate cake, which was delicious, and Chelle, Mike, and Dave sang "Happy Birthday" to me. (Thanks Chelle it was awesome). I had a great Birthday.
June 1, 2009
Today we went and hiked up Mount Timpanogos. It took us about an hour and twenty minutes....I think....to make it to the top. The sight was gorgeous. I loved being up in the trees and the fresh air. We made it to the top and got to go on our own tour. Just the three of us. (Mike, Chelle and I) On the way down was when I got my pretty stellar photography shots of the rocks, mountains and sky. I loved it. After hiking the Mountain we went home and showered and went to a movie. Since we were sore and felt like doing something that didn't have us move around to much. We went and saw Star Trek. Now I'm not a big Star Trek fan but I loved that movie...it was good.
About five minutes before the movie was to end, it cut off on us. We waited for five minutes before they finally turned it back on. When was back on, they left all the lights on. We got a refund. Lame-o! Way home for dinner we once again stopped at JCW's....Mike loves that place!
June 2, 2009
We went and ate with Chelle and Dave at Pat's BBQ for lunch. (Mike and I were watching the Food Network a few weeks before we went on vacation and Pat's came on. The smoke their meatloaf and BBQ. Mike is not one to pass down on BBQ) After lunch we went and visited with Grandpa. We thought we would have enough time to visit other family members but we stayed at Grandpas' house a little longer then we thought. After visiting with Grandpa we went and "chilled" with Mikes' friends. All friends from high school. We had fun but once again on the way home went to JCW's. (he he he)
June 3, 2009
Home to Vegas...Traffic was fine til we hit the "bowl". We were in traffic for an hour. It was horrible. I'm just glad to be back home but miss everyone already!
Pictures coming soon!!!

Held at Gun point!
I guess seeing my life pass before my eyes, has given me a new perspective on life.
On Thursday February 5, 2009, I, Emily Chase, was held at gunpoint at work. Now please don't freak out but I am alive, safe and very thankful for that.
I work at Subway as a store Manager. I open the store every morning at eight in the morning. Well today, at ten minutes past eight, a guy (I'm pretty sure he was Hispanic) came into my store. He said some thing when he first came in but I didn't catch it. I told him hello not realizing that he was wearing a bandanna. It was when he pulled his gun out, pointed it at me and said "didn't you hear me, give me your money!"
I had no time to panic. Since I had just opened the store I hadn't put the money in the register yet. I calming told him that there was no money in the register and that it was open for him to see. He peered over the counter and looked inside my empty register. He than asked for the safe money. Again as calming as I could I told him that I didn't have the safe codes and the person who had them hasn't shown up yet. ( I guess this was an okay time to lie)
He saw my purse. Asked for wallet. (still pointing that ugly black gun at me) I told I had no money. He said he didn't care and to give him my ID. I flat out told him NO! I gave him what ever money I had in my back pocket of my work pants. He took the money, hesitated for a minute, told me I was "Lucky" and walked out of my store.
I've never been so scared in my life. I am so grateful to have a loving a father who watching out me every single day. I have taken my life for granted and after today I know I wont be anymore!
